Largest indigenous private Bank and reigning CIMG Bank of the Year 2013, Fidelity Bank,

has demonstrated its commitment to supporting education and the less privileged in the country.

Staff of Fidelity Bank joined students of the New Horizon Special School (NHSS) for their annual health walk and Fun Games dubbed “Walk the Talk, Don't Leave Me Behind”. 

The event took place on Saturday 28th March, 2015 with the support of Fidelity Bank. The day’s activities attracted more than three hundred and fifty (350) participants made up of students, parents, friends and well-wishers of the school as well as staff of Fidelity Bank.

The day started with a health walk from the Osu Ebenezer Presby Church through the Osu Oxford Street and ended at the school’s premises.

In addition to full sponsorship of the day’s activities, Fidelity Bank also presented an undisclosed amount of money to the School to meet their pressing needs. 

Fidelity Bank re-affirmed its commitment to improving the well-being of the less-privileged in society through focused, meaningful interventions such as this.

Commenting on the support, Dr. William Derban, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Financial Inclusion of Fidelity Bank said “We are proud to support Ghanaians who are passionate about solving challenges they have identified in their respective communities. As an institution with a mandate to ensure a society with improved lives, we will continue to fashion out ways we can to assist the less privileged in the country.”

On his part, the Chairman of the occasion and former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey called on organizations to assist the school by establishing higher educational centres for students who graduate from the New Horizon Special School.

The Principal of the school, Mrs Vanessa Adu-Akorsah urged Ghanaians and the general public to support the school in any capacity they can.

The New Horizon Special School provides education and training for children and adults with mental disability. It also provides vocational training and employment for adults who have intellectual disability.
