Dan MarfoDaniel is a Corporate and Investment Banker with ten years of banking experience in corporate banking and corporate finance. Currently, he is the Director, Corporate Banking. Prior to joining Fidelity Bank Limited, he was the Head of the large corporate business unit of Barclays Bank Ghana Limited.
Daniel has managed and developed trade and other related business opportunities with corporate entities such as Tema Oil Refinery, Volta River Authority (VRA), Volta Aluminum Company (VALCO), Vodafon, Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST), Chase Petroleum, Cirrus Energy, Government of Ghana, etc. and has originated and structured a number trade related and project finance solutions, using appropriate structures for these and other corporate entities operating within different sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
Prior to joining Barclays in June 2006, Daniel worked with Ecobank Ghana Limited as the Regional Executive Assistant to the Regional Director responsible for five countries within the West African Monetary Zone (WAMZ) region of the Ecobank Group. He also worked in the Credit/Risk department of Ecobank as a Senior Credit Officer before he was assigned a role within the corporate department as a Senior Relationship Manager. Whilst with Ecobank, he was a member of the Banks' Credit Committee responsible for reviewing and sanctioning of credits. He also undertook a number of Audit Risk reviews on subsidiaries within the Ecobank Group.
Daniel also worked with Cal Bank as a Senior Corporate Finance Officer prior to joining Ecobank. While working for Cal Bank and Ecobank, Daniel was involved in a number of advisory mandates secured by the Bank, including the merger between Total/Elf and Guinness Ghana Ltd and Ghana Breweries Ltd. Daniel holds a BSc (Hons) and Postgraduate Diploma degrees in Mining Engineering from the University of Science and Technology and an MBA from the University of Central Lancashire in the UK.
